Prokopios and I have something to tell you all...

Since we were having lunch with the entirety of my family before my brother and his crew departed, both my husband and I had to wear our new graphic tees (my husband got a t-shirt with Snoopy playing a banjo, Woodstock perched on it, which says "Chicks love musicians"). My favorite stuffed animal, Prokopios, agreed with the sentiment:

Prokopios didn't show up too well, alas...

I think this might be the third time I have a picture of myself with some sort of stuffed animal on this blog. Guys, I think I have a problem.

Anyways, as I'm not much of a jeans + casual t-shirt kind of girl, I glammed up the look with my pretty grey leather booties, hoop earrings, and a cashmere cardigan for going outdoors:

Amazing.

Can you tell that, after just one day of dressing down,  I'm already looking forward to wearing glammier clothes tomorrow for New Year's Eve?

Moving on to other delicious topics, many of you in the comments have asked for the recipe of the oatmeal/cheesecake bars I make. I'm glad to share - I got the recipe from the Food Network! Somehow, in a moment of gluttony last year, I signed up for the Food Network's 12 Days of Cookies e-mails, so in December I get deluged with cookie recipes in my inbox. I've made three of them, I think. These are the clear favorites. Voilà the link: the official name is "Oatmeal Cream Cheese Butterscotch Bars" (mouthful!).

[Let me know if the link doesn't work, people: I can just copy it down for y'all in case there's a problem.]

Any cool plans for New Year's Eve, people? My husband and I will feed his mom and my parents and, if they come, a couple of other guests. It should be pretty low-key, although I'm tempted to dress up to the nines. Hmmm ... we'll see.

And with that, I'm out! Smell you later!

Jeans: Gap, remixed

  1. Thanks for the recipe. I still love the t-shirt. We're going out for a casual dinner and then maybe some dancing!

  2. So, I know why these bars are so good "Two sticks of butter plus more..." YUM! I will make these when I get back from my travels.

There is nothing wrong with posing with little stuffies, and the fact that Mr./ Mrs. Prokopios matches your new shirt is fantastic.

If all goes well I will be in Miami for NYE, but I need to try and convince someone from the family to go out with me...'cause a good looking girl like me isn't going out alone! Kidding. (On the good looking part, not the be smart about what your doing part).

  3. Yeah, the butter content is kind of insane on these guys, but they're SO worth it! Um, for the record, I use fat free sweetened condensed milk (so it's HEALTHY!). Oh, and gluten-free flour, of course, for my household.
